On-board Camera Module Assembly Demonstration
We are assembling a mock-up of the on-board camera module with ABB’s collaborative dual-arm robot “YuMi.”
Taking advantage of the dual-arm system, we complete the process from assembly to screw tightening only in the hands, which is closer to human work.
The board to board connector “10126 series” is installed for mating the board inside the module. The floating function offsets mounting misalignment and realizes assembly.
By mounting HIOS’s electric screwdriver for robots on the YuMi, the process up to screw tightening is completely reproduced.

10126 Series
0.40mm pitch, floating type, parallel connection (ST/ST) board to board connector enables high-speed transmission of digital signals. Movable (floating) structure, 0.4mm movable in the X Y direction, and 0.3mm effective mating length in the Z direction. 8.0Gbps (typical reference value based on in-house definition) high-speed transmission is supported despite low profile and space-saving design. Impedance matching: differential 100Ω, which offsets misalignment when the on-board camera module is embedded on the board, significantly improving reliability.
