Announcement of the 10149 Series, Floating Connector for 30A power supplies

On January 17, 2025, IRISO (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Hitoshi Suzuki) announced the “10149/10151 Series” Floating Connector that support up to 30A.

By mounting it in parallel with the power supply for control boards and PSUs or High-speed transmission Connector it is possible to supply power to SoCs that consume high amounts of power. It can also be used in chargers and motor peripherals that require high current transmission regardless of the market. The amount of Floating is ±1.0mm in the X and Y directions. It absorbs misalignment during board assembly and is also compatible with Robot assembly by robots.

Using it as an alternative to conventional bus bars and wire harnesses will improve connection work and enable smaller and lighter devices in the mobility market, where electrification is progressing, as well as in the industrial equipment market, including robots and factory automation equipment.

Major features

Feature 1: Small and robust

Compared to our conventional high current Board to Board Connector connector “10122 series”, the mounting area has been reduced by 45% (when compared to 3-pole products).

The rated voltage can be adjusted by removing some of the pins to increase the creepage distance between the pins.

The reinforcing metal fittings increase the strength of the board attachment, allowing it to be used in harsh environments.

Feature 2: Excellent contact reliability

The 125°C heat resistance and 4-point contact design reduce contact resistance and provide high connection reliability, allowing safe use even with a high current of 30A (USCAR compliant).

Feature 3: Floating Connector

It achieves ±1.0mm Floating in the X and Y directions, absorbing misalignment between boards, making alignment adjustments easier when connecting multiple boards and reducing stress concentration on the soldered parts. In addition, it also contributes greatly to improving Mating workability along with proper induction. Furthermore, it has a large effective Mating, so it can accommodate misalignment of ±1.0mm in the Z direction.
